Before/After: A Low-Key, Bauhaus-Inspired Tribeca Loft by 2Michaels

In a sea of sameness when it pertains to interiors, it’s revitalizing to come throughout a job that does not aim to be of this precise minute.

When Joan and Jayne Michaels, the twin sis behind style practice 2Michaels sent us among their current jobs, it signed up like a breath of fresh air, a taste buds cleanser.

” Our customer, Andrew Serling, purchased the location in the late eighties. It lies in a previous Borden milk factory integrated in 1921, and the structure maintains its initial beauty. For many years, Andrew wed, relocated to Pennsylvania, and hardly ever utilized the location (although his next-door neighbor Robert DeNiro rented it as a boxing studio at one point). Years passed and the location fell under disrepair.

” Recently Andrew and his partner, Ellen, chose to invest more time in the city, so they got us to break the design code (see before pictures) with architectural designer Jeff English.” The outcome: a remarkably reconfigured area with a Bauhaus ambiance and a hard-to-pin-down, advanced visual.

( Oh, and did we discuss that Taylor Swift lives throughout the street? Chaos periodically occurs, however it’s all fine.)
